Job Summary:

This position manages day-to-day operations at Medical Imaging at Lee’s Hill (MILH) and Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) to facilitate effective diagnosis and treatment of disease. The Facility Manager assists the Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, LLC (MIF) Director and other MIF Leadership in maintaining the highest degree of clinical/operational performance and customer satisfaction in outpatient imaging.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

  • Manages day-to-day operations for MILH to assure the efficient and effective performance of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services for MRI, Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, CT, Mammography, DEXA, Radiology support services, and other mobile services.
  • Provides support of the FSED to include invoicing, managing call schedules, volume tracking and customer service goals
  • Manages the employment function for all clinical and support Associate positions to include the selection, retention, orientation, training, competency assessment (including CBOT completion), performance development and termination of Associates.
  • Serves as a resource to MIF supervisors regarding staffing issues and the scheduling of human and material resources. Assures staff and patient scheduling is adequate to meet the needs of the MILH, FSED, customers, and community.
  • Facilitates day-to-day collaboration between MILH and FSED Radiologists, and the referring Physicians for MIF.
  • Collaborates to resolve conflicts promptly and to continuously improve services and increase efficiencies between imaging modalities within MILH, Urgent Care, and FSED.
  • Acts as the point of contact and liaison for MILH operations.
  • Collaborates with the MIF Director, Radiological Associates of Fredericksburg (RAF) Administrator, and other MIF Facility Managers to develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures and standards to ensure efficient and effective operations, integration with other departments and services, and compliance with all organizational, professional and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists the MIF Director in developing and managing the capital budget for MILH. Participates and supports the development and implementation of new programs, services and equipment with other MIF and FSED supervisors and managers.
  • Develops and manages an annual operating budget for MILH that optimizes gross margins and growth while providing quality diagnostic and therapeutic services. Monitors operations / expenses in all cost centers relating to MILH on an ongoing basis to ensure adherence to the budget.
  • Evaluates and resolves quality / performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and presents clinical and administrative reports to accurately reflect facility operations and processes.
  • Assists the MIF Director and RAF Administrator in developing and implementing a strategic plan for Imaging Services that facilitates ongoing operations while integrating professional, clinical and technical changes.
  • Implements and monitors MIF safety and infection control plans, radiation safety programs and ongoing performance improvement activities including participation in Root Cause Analyses for MILH.
  • Assists the MIF Director in maintaining compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies for the Facility including, but not limited to ACR, MQSA, OSHA, and Virginia Department of Health.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Radiologic Sciences, Diagnostic, Medical Technology or related science field.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant supervisory or leadership experience, required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience, required.
  • Demonstrates competency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, required.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of imaging services and activities, organizational management and technological performance, required.
  • Registered in Radiologic Technology by the ARRT or an appropriate credentialing agency such as the RDMS (Ultrasound) or CNMT (Nuclear Medicine), required.

Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, and sitting; occasional (0-33% of workday) bending, stooping, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination. 

Mental Requirements: Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills.  Ability to multi-task.  Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.  Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends. 

Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals.  Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
