Nationwide, there has been a skyrocketing increase in job scams, especially for remote work positions. The goal of the scammers is often identity theft and access to bank accounts or credit cards.
Here’s how to know that a job posting at Mary Washington Healthcare is legitimate:
- Jobs are listed on or linked directly from either marywashingtonhealthcare.com or mwhccareers.com.
- Applications for employed positions are completed in Workday, which requires the applicant to create an account with a username and password.
- Applications for contracted positions such as security, food and nutrition, and housekeeping are completed on our partners’ websites.
- All official emails will come from @mwhc.com or marywashingtonhealthcare@myworkday.com. Any other domain or URL is not legitimate. When in doubt, please email hrrecruitment@mwhc.com.
- All interviews are conducted either on Microsoft Teams or in person. We do not use Signal, WhatsApp, or any other application.
- Job offers begin with a call from a recruiter followed by a formal job offer letter in Workday which must be acknowledged and accepted by the applicant.
- We will never ask for banking information or for a candidate to send money, pay for equipment or training, background checks, or any other fees.
