Job Summary:
Assist the Director with risk identification, facilitating corrective actions and tracking of hospital environmental and safety risk reduction programs. Will provide administrative and special project support to ensure regulatory compliance and all hazard readiness. Assist the Director with hospital emergency preparedness planning, mitigation, response and recovery. Will assist in special project work, staff education, managing and maintaining equipment and medical supplies for disaster or infrastructure compromises.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Drafts and creates presentations, maintains document files, spreadsheets and manages projects and deadlines.
- Develops, coordinates and facilitates educational programs for Associates and providers related to safety and preparedness.
- Supports compliance efforts with hospital regulatory agencies through activities such as emergency manual audits and hazard vulnerability assessments.
- Assists with the design and conducting of exercises, project management and safety rounding.
- Audits and maintains tracking of safety findings, equipment and supply inventories.
- Rotating emergency medical supply cart stock, as needed.
- Evaluates emergency drills and events creating after action reports with realistic opportunities for improvement.
- Builds positive relationships with hospital leaders, local, regional, state and federal response, regulatory and emergency management agencies.
- Remains current with regulatory and compliance initiatives in emergency preparedness and safety.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience and Qualifications:- Required:
- Minimum of two years of experience in safety or emergency preparedness role.
- Associate’s degree Must possess reliable transportation to work and travel to an MWHC hospital during disaster situations.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and written.
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in emergency management, homeland security, urban or regional planning, public administration or related discipline.
- Plan development and project management experience.
License and/or Certifications:- Required:
- FEMA ICS-100 and FEMA ICS-200 or achieved within six (6) months of hire
- Preferred:
- Incident Command System 300, 400, and 700 OSHA 30hr Compliance Course within the last 6 years
