Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Mental Health Outpatient Services is responsible for supporting the Snowden at Fredericksburg (SAF) Operations Manager and providing supervisory duties for the Outpatient Services department. Provides day to day clinical and administrative supervision of appropriate staff and clinical programs. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all clinical documentation complies with state licensing, federal, and JCAHO standards as they pertain to clinical treatment. Ensures effective collaboration within and between services/programs, with other MWHC departments, and with external partners. Maintains working relationships in the community to bring awareness and education and to promote the services provided by Snowden at Fredericksburg.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Supervises Outpatient staff, plans and assigns work as appropriate, assists with annual performance evaluations, assists with the hiring process and onboarding of new Associates, disciplinary action, and performance coaching as required.
- Ensures quality therapeutic care is provided to outpatients while adhering to and enforcing federal and state licensing regulations.
- Ensures compliance from therapists in the execution of their duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: treatment assessment and formulation, group and individual therapy delivery, case management, and timeliness of necessary documentation.
- Partners with the Operations Manager to facilitate multi-disciplinary case conference meetings to review team dynamics and milieu planning, reviews coordination of treatment interventions for team/individuals, reviews and approves therapeutic visits, and conducts master treatment plan reviews and updates.
- Ensures efficacy and implementation of all clinical interventions utilized with residents through monitoring and oversight.
- Reviews and approves all families referred for admission to ensure clinical appropriateness. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing files, interviewing referral sources, and/or coordination of supporting information and documentation from clinicians, agencies, or treatment facilities, and obtaining final approval from the Medical Director.
- Responds in a timely and appropriate manner to family/guardian and patient concerns.
- Participates on committees and in professional meetings and staffing as necessary to the function of the mental health program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (M.A./M.S) or equivalent in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Social Work (MSW), or related field, required.
- Licensed by the State of Virginia as an LCSW, LMFT or LPC .
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Independent Practitioner in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy; or Professional Counseling, working with adolescent and adults with psychiatric disorders.
- CPR license issued by the Commonwealth of VA required.
- CPI certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the administration and supervision of clinical services, departments, programs, personnel, and/or other treatment services in a psychiatric treatment setting preferred.
