Job Summary:
This position efficiently and effectively manages all day-to-day operations at Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg (MIF) to facilitate effective diagnosis and treatment of disease in an environment that is cost-effective and value-driven. The Facility Manager is responsible for leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and MIF,LLC philosophy and goals. The Facility Manager assists the Clinical Director and other MIF, LLC managers in maintaining the highest degree of clinical/operational performance and customer satisfaction in outpatient imaging. The Facility Manager supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and MIF, LLC and demonstrates a commitment of quality service to our patients and their families, the community, the physicians, and our Associates.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Manages all day-to-day operations to assure the efficient and effective performance of high quality diagnostic and therapeutic services for Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, Mammography, Reception, and File-room services, and other mobile services as required.
- Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of imaging services and activities, organizational management and technological performance.
- Manages the employment function for all clinical and support staff positions. This includes primary responsibilities for the selection, retention, orientation, training, competency assessment (including CBOT completion), performance development and termination of Associates as needed.
- Serves as a resource to MIF and other MIF, LLC supervisors regarding staffing issues and the scheduling of human and materiel resources. Assures staff and patient scheduling is adequate to meet the needs of the customers and community.
- Develops and empowers MIF Associates to the benefit of the Associate and the Facility. Encourages and provides for ongoing educational activities, in-services and other opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
- Is responsible for day-to-day collaboration between Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, its Associates, Radiologists and the referring Physicians for Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, LLC. Maintains positive and effective work relationships / communications with all healthcare team members. Collaborates to resolve conflicts promptly and to continuously improve services and increase efficiencies between modalities within MIF.
- Serves as a liaison to MIF staff, Administration, radiologists, the medical staff, the School of Radiologic Technology, Information Services other health care providers, facilities, consultants, vendors and customers.
- Supports the Resource Manager as a contact to Radiology Associates of Fredericksburg’s billing personnel.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Director, RAF Administrator, and other MIF, LLC Facility Managers to develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures and standards to ensure efficient and effective operations, integration with other departments and services, and compliance with all organizational, professional and regulatory requirements.
- Creates an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and exceptional customer satisfaction. Fosters and promotes professionalism, positive interactive behavior, team building and open and frequent communications with all customers.
- Collaborates with other departments and customers to solve problems, coordinate activities and facilitate organizational change. Encourages staff use of the Mary Washington Healthcare Service Recovery Plan.
- Assists the Clinical Director and RAF Administrator in developing and managing the capital budget for MIF. Participates and supports the development and implementation of new programs, services and equipment.
- With other MIF supervisors and managers, develops and manages the operating budget for MIF on an annual basis that optimizes gross margins while providing quality diagnostic and therapeutic services. Monitors operations / expenses in all cost centers relating to MIF on an ongoing basis to ensure adherence to the budget.
- Assists with the coordination and implementation of new services and programs. Evaluates and resolves quality / performance issues in a timely manner.
- Prepares and presents clinical and administrative reports to accurately reflect facility operations and processes.
- Assists the Clinical Director and RAF Administrator in developing and implementing a strategic plan for Imaging Services that facilitates ongoing operations while integrating professional, clinical and technical changes.
- Is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of MIF, LLC safety and infection control plans, radiation safety programs and ongoing performance improvement activities including participation in Root Cause Analyses for MIF.
- Assists the Clinical Director in maintaining compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies for the Facility including ACR, MQSA, ICAVL, OSHA, Virginia Department of Health and others when appropriate
- Oversees Associate education regarding the Mary Washington Healthcare Corporate Compliance Program and serves as a resource to its importance.
- Provides management support for other MIF, LLC Facility Managers during periods when they are sick or on vacation..
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree Radiologic Sciences or related field is preferred.
- Two to five years diagnostic, imaging, radiology or related experience
- One to two years relevant supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Demonstrates competency in Excel and Word.
- Registered in Radiologic Technology by the ARRT or an appropriate credentialing agency such as the RDMS (Ultrasound) or CNMT (Nuclear Medicine) required.

Compensation Pay Range:
