Job Summary:Under the direction of Leadership and in collaboration with Financial Operations, the Budget and Grants Analyst will perform a variety of technical, administrative, and financial services for various grants and contracts under the Ryan White, Private Foundation, and federal and state grants. The Budget and Grants Analyst provides leadership, oversight, and support of fiscal activities for various grants in contracts. The Analyst provides comprehensive financial planning and budgeting that embraces all operating components and fund sources. This position proactively seeks to determine the needs of the program and provides financial recommendations based on projections and the current/projected fiscal environment. This position will provide data management and administrative support associated with grants and contracts and is responsible for coordinating submission of all related grant and technical reports.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Prepares and submits reports, invoices, and other deliverable s for applicable programs timely and accurately.
- Creates and generates financial data reports as requested by program leadership.
- Works collaboratively with program staff to ensure protocols, guidelines and processes of applicable programs are being followed, grant funds are used appropriately and include appropriate supporting documentation.
- Maintains accurate and complete grant files and data using data entry software such as CAREWare along with the department and the organizations financial system.
- Prepares and administers assigned budget(s), establishes budgets in the grant management system and monitors and reports on revenue and expenditure activity.
- Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed to meet our grant or contract requirements.
- Conducts data analysis and research on specific budget issues and performs various analysis to support financial recommendations on variances.
- Assists in the development of processes to improve, expand and further outline the elements of required data collection and reporting.
- Performs various analysis to support financial recommendations on variances.
- Provides assistance in the formulation of grant and contract budgets as well as monitoring performance against approved budgets.
- Aids in the preparation and presentation of financial data for grant and contract proposals, as well as prepares grant and contract budget modifications as needed.
- Assists in the compilation and preparation of audits and site visits with external organizations in accordance with the grant standards and requirements.
- Participates in the development and implementation of new or revised budget programs, systems, procedures and methods of operation.
- Assists in the development and implementation of budget policies and supporting documentation.
- Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2)years experience performing budgetary, administrative and operational support work required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in grant processing to include experience reviewing, maintaining and monitoring financial data and reports for accuracy.
- Ability to interpret and apply Federal, State and private funding procedures, laws, and regulations related to programs grants.
- Independently organize and complete assigned tasks under minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business related field preferred.
- CPA or CFA preferred.
