Job Summary:This position is accountable to provide treatment services to home health patients under the direct supervision of an OTR. Duties and responsibilities are performed according to standards outlined in the competency based evaluation tool. The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing the privacy and of patients’ protected health information.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Treat patients in order to facilitate their return to independent, functional living.
- Record and document treatment and patient progress to assist in monitoring patient care and accurate recording of departmental services.
- Communicates effectively with physicians, other health care personnel and patient families to effectively address patient needs.
- Educate patients, patient's families and staff to increase knowledge, professional development and ensure quality care.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree from an accredited program with a major in Occupational Therapy required.
- Current certification by the National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy required.
- One year health care experience preferred.
