Orthopedics
Experience the satisfaction of hearing your patients say "I should have done this ten years ago!" Our fast-paced unit services patients who have had knee and hip joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and general orthopedic procedures. We are passionate about preventive medicine, and regularly bring our show on the road to schools, sport clubs, dance studios, senior living facilities, and more. With low nurse-to-patient ratios and solid working relationships, we have the energy to give back to our community.

General Surgery
With one of the highest retention rates in the hospital—and that's saying a lot at Mary Washington—our Associates thrive on the variety of cases we see every day. With flexible schedules, strong peer support, and a unit-based educator exclusively dedicated to the professional development of everyone on our staff, we are so excited about all we are accomplishing.

Endoscopy
Our 10,000 square-foot facility takes care of patients from admission to discharge. That—and our sunny dispositions—keeps patient satisfaction scores hovering around 95 percent! We operate six pre-procedure bays, six procedure rooms, and fourteen recovery bays. Utilizing the latest and greatest in medical technology, we provide service 24 hours a day to patients, 90 percent of whom are outpatients.

IV Therapy
This unit is responsible for IV access management throughout the hospital and is staffed by professionally trained RNs.

Preadmission Testing
To create better work environments throughout the hospital, our Preadmission Testing Unit, staffed with RNs, HUCs, Patient Access Associates, and Lab professionals, ensures that pre-registration diagnostic laboratory work is drawn and patients are educated about their conditions and screened by anesthesia.
