Honors For Our Specialists
Mary Washington Hospital was named a top 50 hospital for digestive disorders by U.S. News & World Report in 2009 and is now a certified stroke center according to The Joint Commission.

Mary Washington Hospital Attains Magnet Status
Mary Washington Hospital has achieved Magnet status, the highest honor awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to recognize nursing excellence on a national basis. The recognition is achieved by healthcare organizations that meet high performance benchmarks regarding the quality of nursing services provided to patients and the caliber of its professional nursing environment. Only 6 percent of U.S. hospitals are Magnet designated facilities.

Emergency and Outpatient Services at Lee's Hill
Mary Washington Healthcare is pleased to bring an exciting new concept in care to Spotsylvania. Emergency and Outpatient Services at Lee's Hill brings a variety of hospital outpatient services to a freestanding, central location on its own campus. Patients and Associates will benefit greatly from the seamless care this facility allows, including centralized medical records with all other Mary Washington Healthcare facilities.

Mary Washington Gains Level-II Trauma Designation
Gaining Level-II Trauma status means more patients and their families can remain in Fredericksburg in cases of serious illnesses and accidents. Specialty-trained hospital units include the ED, ICU, and Surgical Services. Dedicated trauma specialists have also trained closely with the region's EMS community to ensure optimal trauma care, beginning with first-responders.

A New Hospital in Stafford County—2009!
Mary Washington Healthcare welcomes Associates to our new facility in Stafford—the first full-service hospital in the county. Designed to utilize the most advanced technology, 72-acre Stafford Hospital opens its doors with a highly trained staff of 350, including physicians from 18 specialty areas. Features include an 84-bed Med/Surg Unit, ICU with 6 critical beds, ED, comprehensive imaging, pathology with on-site lab, pharmacy, and much more.

Our Award-Winning Emergency Department
Mary Washington Healthcare Associates developed the R.A.T.E.D.-ER and Super Track systems to streamline emergency services, decrease lengths of stay, and reduce wait times by 45 percent—efforts that were recognized by George Mason University, which granted Mary Washington Healthcare its Improvement of the Year Award. Hospitals nationwide are now in line to adopt the process, which decreases triage times by 66 percent.
