A Message From Our CNO
I know firsthand the tremendous opportunities that come with being a nurse at Mary Washington Healthcare. Having started here in 1988 as a nursing supervisor, the doors were opened for me to grow into the career that I have today. It’s an experience that I see repeated day in and day out with our dedicated nurses, and am happy to have the chance to share a few with you.
The nurse colleagues you will join have rewarding careers practicing the profession of nursing. From leading our clinical informatics programming and our supply chain solutions to ensuring regulatory compliance as partners in care and working to improve financial revenue and performance, they continue to embrace the opportunities MWHC has to offer. We depend on them to comfort our terminally ill, deliver the children of our community and care for the traumatically injured. They also selflessly provide home care through our home health and Hospice programs to the frail elderly, safely providing anesthesia services, and examine the assaulted and abused, later testifying in court to contribute to justice.
Back in 1984 when I was a new grad in Akron, Ohio, Nurse Manager Ron took a chance on me. I look forward to MWHC adding a formal new grad program in Med-Surg nursing in the summer of 2013 under the capable leadership of our Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Educators in each clinical area.
Being a nurse at Mary Washington Healthcare is choosing to join this committed team and to walk through the door of opportunity for professional advancement. On behalf of the entire nursing leadership team of MWHC, thank you for considering joining our team.
